Dear beloved and valued citizens of Phandalin,

Most people have never heard of Phandalin. Or if they have, they know it as a forgotten trading town.

I see opportunity in Phandalin. We can put Phandalin back on the map! We can restore our farming community to prosperity. I already beat back the bandits and rescued our kidnapped townsfolk from the goblins. With my leadership we will also overcome the Mind Flayer curse.

Townmaster Harbin Wester was right for his time. Many credit him for killing the dragon at Icespire Peak. The truth is, he hired adventurers for this quest. Adventures who've left town long ago. Phandalin is in need of a new hero. Who better than an adventurer herself? Elder brain murderess! Dragon slayer! Wielder of great magic! May I present to you . . . me, Nina Liveãn, your candidate for mayor of Phandalin.

Wave-echo Cave was a source of riches for Phandalin before it was overrun with monsters. Nina and her adventuring party made it safe and rescued Nundro, an experienced miner. She'll work him to rebuild the mines and make Phandalin prosper!

Under Harbin's rule, Mind Flayers have been allowed to grow their colony and plot against Phandalin. These horrible tentacle-headed beasts have cursed our town, causing friends and neighbors to grow tentacle appendages that interfere with daily tasks. They're being unwillingly turned into Mind Flayers! We cannot tolerate this any longer. Nina's already taken the first step towards reversing the curse by venturing deep into the Mind Flayer lair, discovering their evil plans, and slaying the Elder Brain - the colony leader. Elect Nina and she will finish the job, freeing everyone from the Mind Flayer curse!
